I was absolutely delighted when Clare & Rob asked my to be their wedding photographer and super excited to be doing their engagement shoot up in Dundee. My wife and I met at university in Dundee, started our married life, careers and family there too before eventually moving to Glasgow.
As I arrived in Dundee the rain was bouncing off the pavements but thankfully by the time I had parked up the sun had burst through. We chose to have our shoot in Chandlers Lane, which is an old cobbled street lined with beautiful wee houses which were converted from harbour workshops from the 1850's.
After a quick catch up, we started with some nice and easy 'walking shots'. I only have two instructions when it comes to 'walking shots': 1. Have a happy conversation, because it shows in your faces and 2. Don't look at the camera, pretend I'm not here. Clare and Rob did a fantastic job, their walk was full of big smiles and lots of laughter and they completely forgot I was there as they strolled past me!
Next we snuck into the shade of the terraced houses from some more intimate, close up photos before taking a walk along the waterfront. On the way to the V&A we walked along a path which had lovely leading lines heading down towards the museum, so we had to stop, pop up a flash and grab a quick shot.
The V&A museum in Dundee makes for a wonderful backdrop for photographs with its stunning lines and angles and when I saw the arch that runs underneath it, I knew we had to finish of the engagement shoot with a cool silhouette. Look out for Clare & Rob's wedding blog popping up soon.
